Why Misfit Ranch Is Selective

We want to rescue as many dogs as possible. But our commitment to them lasts a lifetime.
Being a responsible rescue means thinking about tomorrow, not just today. And we think any good rescue should be selective too.
Once a Misfit, Always a Misfit
We agree to take back any Misfit Ranch dog if they are ever returned. They will never end up in a shelter. Ever.
Because we always take our dogs back, we have to be mindful of our space, our resources, and the needs of the dogs already in our care.
Being Selective Means Being Responsible
We look beyond today to protect our dogs for tomorrow. We can't say "yes" to every dog if it means we might not be able to keep our promise to the ones we've already saved.
Life Happens
Circumstances change in unforeseeable ways. Sometimes, adopters aren't 100% honest. Unfortunately, sometimes a dog gets returned.
We will always be here for them.
We Are Selective in Our Adopters Because We Love Our Dogs
We want to set our dogs up for success. We do our best to choose adopters who are ready, committed, and in it for the long haul.
- We ask questions.
- We have honest conversations.
- We offer guidance and support.
- We're here for the good days and the hard ones.
Our Promise Is for Life
We wish we could save them all. So we save them right, so they don't have to be saved twice.
Rescued. Loved. Never abandoned. That's Misfit Ranch.
Thank you for supporting a rescue that chooses responsibility, not quantity. It's how we honor every Misfit who depends on us.
